- 1 cup margarine softened (or 1/2 cup marg and 1/2 cup butter)
- 1¼ cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup sour cream
- 4 cups flour
Buttercream frosting:
- ½ cup margarine or butter, half melted
- 3 Tablespoons shortening
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2-3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 Tablespoon milk
- red or pink food coloring
Bunny Toppings:
- 26 mini marshmallows
- 52 pink M&Ms
- 156 pink sixlets
Mix margarine, eggs, and sugar until well blended. Add baking powder, baking soda, vanilla, salt, and sour cream and stir well. Add flour and combine until well blended. Chill dough for about 30 minutes. Roll out on a floured surface and cut 26 circles with a round glass that is about 2 3/4 inches in diameter, and cut 52 bunny paws using an oval lid that is about 1 3/4 in x 1 1/4 in. Bake in 350 degree oven for about 9 minutes. You do not want to overcook them.
After the cookies are completely cooled, make the frosting by mixing the margarine, shortening, vanilla, powdered sugar and milk. Color 1/2 of the frosting pink and leave the remaining frosting the original white color.
Frost the round cookie pink and frost the paws white. Push the paws onto the cookie bottom. Add the marshmallow for the bunny tail. Add sixlets and m&m's for the paw pads.
