PHILLY CHEESESTEAK STROMBOLI

Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoon butter
  • ½ yellow onion diced
  • 1 green bell pepper diced
  • lbs rib eye steak
  • 1 Tablespoon Montreal steak seasoning
  • 1 can refrigerated pizza dough
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 2 eggs beaten

Instructions

  • On a skillet over medium heat, melt butter.
  • Saute onions and peppers until cooked through.
  • While onions are cooking, slice steak into small thin strips.
  • Set aside onions and pepper in separate bowl once cooked.
  • Using the same pan, add steak and Montreal seasoning. Cook meat over medium heat until cooked through.
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • On lightly greased baking sheet, roll out pizza dough to cover bottom of pan.
  • Leaving a 1 inch border, add steak, peppers and onion all over the top of the dough.
  • Carefully place Provolone cheese slices to cover the steak layer.
  • Brush 1 inch edge with egg wash.
  • Fold in corners. Roll pizza dough and seal edges by pinching the dough together.
  • Brush top with remaining egg wash.
  • Cut small slits in pizza roll every 1 inch.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes until crust becomes golden brown.
  • Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes. Cut into slices and serve.
