Hawaiian Grilled Chicken Thighs Recipe
The Hawaiian Grilled Chicken Thighs recipe cooks up juicy and flavorful every time and the marinade comes together with simple ingredients!
- ½ cup pineapple juice
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ⅓ cup ketchup
- ⅓ cup low sodium soya sauce
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- pineapple slices, for serving (optional)
In a mixing bowl, whisk together pineapple juice, brown sugar, ketchup, soy sauce, ginger and garlic.
Pour marinade into a large resealable plastic bag and add chicken thighs.
Seal bag and place in the fridge for at least 2 hours (or overnight - about 5-6 hours is ideal).
Remove bag from fridge, drain and discard marinade from chicken thighs.
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 375 degrees).
Place chicken thighs smooth side down on the grill. Grill chicken thighs heat for 5-7 minutes on the first side and then flip over. or until internal temperature of chicken thighs reaches 165 degrees F.
Remove chicken from grill and place on a plate or platter. Cover with aluminum foil and let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes before eating so that the juices can redistribute and give you extra juicy chicken.
Serve with pineapple slices on the side (you can even throw the pineapple on the grill for a minute or two if desired!).
