Baked Apple Cider Donut Holes Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • teaspoons baking powder
  • teaspoons baking soda
  • teaspoons cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tablespoons butter melted
  • cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 2 Tablespoons applesauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ cup apple cider

Cinnamon/Sugar Coating

  • 5 Tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 Tablespoon cinnamon
  • ½ cup sugar

Instructions

  • In a large bowl stir together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt.
  • In another bowl whisk together the egg, melted butter, and brown sugar. Then add the buttermilk, applesauce, vanilla, and apple cider.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the bowl of dry ingredients and whisk together just until combined. Do not overstir.
  • Pour the batter into lightly sprayed mini muffin tins. Fill each muffin 3/4 full. Bake for 8 minutes at 350 degrees.
  • While the donut holes are baking melt the butter in a microwave safe bowl. In another bowl combine the sugar and cinnamon together.
  • When the donut holes come out of the oven dip the top of each donut hole into the melted butter, then dip into the cinnamon/sugar mixture.
