- 12.4 ounce package Pillsbury cinnamon roll dough with cream cheese frosting
Apple Topping:
- 2 apples peeled and diced
- 2 Tablespoons butter
- 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ cup maple syrup
- ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Make the apple topping before making the waffles because they cook up so fast and the apple topping will stay warm while the waffles are cooking.
For the caramel apple topping combine diced apples, butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, syrup, and chopped pecans in a small saucepan and cook over medium heat for about 5 to 6 minutes or until the apples are very tender. Leave in the saucepan to stay warm while the waffles cook.
Heat waffle iron and spray with non stick cookie spray. Place 4 cinnamon rolls in the waffle iron and cook for about 1 1/2 minutes or until done. (You may need to open slightly and peek inside)
When done remove to a plate and frost immediately.
Spoon apple topping over the cooked waffles. So YUMMY!
