Nutter Butter Special K Bars Recipe

Ingredients
- 16 ounces Nutter Butter Cookies
- 4 cups Special K Cereal
- ½ cup butter
- 1 cup Karo syrup
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup peanut butter (creamy)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Frosting
- ½ cup butter, softened
- 3 Tablespoons cocoa
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 Tablespoons milk
- 3 cups powdered sugar, more or less if needed
Instructions
- Blend the nutter butter cookies in a food processor until they are all small crumbs.
- In a big bowl combine the cookie crumbs and cereal.
- In a sauce pan melt the butter.
- Add in the Karo syrup and brown sugar. Cook over medium heat and bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat and add in the peanut butter and vanilla. Stir well.
- Pour over the cookie/cereal mixture in the big bowl and mix in until blended.
- Press into a lightly greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Let cool.
Frosting
- Blend the softened butter, cocoa, vanilla, milk, and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. If the frosting is too thin add more powdered sugar. If it's too thick add a little more milk.
- Spread the frosting over the cooled bars. Slice and serve.
