Equipment

  • sauce pan

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey (can use ground beef)
  • ½ onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 28 ounces diced tomatoes drained
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • 6 ounces tomato paste
  • ¼ cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoons dried basil
  • 1 Tablespoon dried oregano
  • 2 Tablespoons sugar
  • ½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 17.6 ounces potato gnocchi
  • pinch salt

Instructions

  • Cook Gnocchi as directed on package. Most packages call for water and a pinch of salt.
  • Brown Ground Turkey with onion and garlic, drain.
  • Add remaining ingredients. Stir to combine everything. Reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered for about 30 minutes or until sauce is at your desired thickness.
  • Serve over cooked Gnocchi. Add Parmesan cheese on top.
  • Make the sauce first and then start the Gnocchi when there is 10 minutes left of the sauce to simmer.
  • Cook Gnocchi as directed on package. Most packages call for water and a pinch of salt.
  • This makes A LOT of sauce so we froze the rest and served it over noodles the next week.
