Peanut Butter Cup Bark

This Peanut Butter Cup Bark, is the best holiday dessert. I may be biased because of my love of Reese's but it makes a great Christmas treat, and an even better tradition.

Well, another Halloween has come and gone, and somehow I ended up with three extra bags of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

Oh wait, I am pretty sure that I did that on purpose. They are always the last to be given out, because they are too good to share.

Chocolate and peanut butter is definitely a combo that they will serve in heaven and when you use it as a topping for this easy bark, it doesn’t get any better.

You could really use any combo of Halloween candy that you have, but I highly recommend this one.

PS- This bark would be an awesome treat for Christmas – you could give it to neighbors or serve it at a party. It literally takes 5 minutes to throw together.

tips for making Peanut Butter Cup Bark:

-When covering you baking sheet, I recommend using wax paper. Foil will also work, but sometimes when you cut or break it apart, shreds of foil tend to rip with it.

-When microwaving your chocolate, be sure your bowl, or glass measuring cup you are using has no water or moisture in it.

-Moisture is the quickest way to ruin melted chocolate. It will turn it all gritty. So be sure your stirring utensil and bowl are dry when making the chocolate.

-We also recommend taking the chocolate out of the microwave every 30 seconds to stir it, so it doesn’t get burned.

-Using a rubber spatula is the best way to spread the chocolate out on the covered pan. It also doesn’t have to be perfectly spread, because you will be breaking it up into pieces anyway.

It doesn’t need to be a perfect rectangle or chocolate density, but try to spread it out as evenly as possible.

-I usually add the melted peanut butter when the chocolate has hardened up a little bit. This will just help it keep it’s sharp and delicate chocolate peanut butter look, rather than the two running and melting together.

This recipe is so fun, because it is so versatile. You could easily make this bark with any candy recipe. I am personally a lover of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, but there are so many variations to try.

Here are a few of my other favorite candies to try, when making this bark:

-Cookies and Cream Bars
-White Chocolate Drizzle
-Candy Canes
-Holiday candies

I just crush or chop the candy up, into smaller pieces, then garnish the bark wit it.

Peanut Butter Cup Bark

The perfect way to use leftover Halloween candy! Even if you don't have these exact candies on hand, feel free to use whatever candy you do have!

  • 1 (12 oz) bag milk OR semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 6-8 Reese's peanut butter cups (more or less, depending on what you prefer), chopped
  • 1 cup Reese's pieces candy
  • 1 cup peanuts, crushed into small pieces
  • 2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter


  1. Take a 15x10x1" cookie sheet and line with wax paper.
  2. Pour chocolate chips into a medium sized bowl and microwave for 45 seconds, stir, then return to the microwave for 30 seconds. Stir until completely melted and smooth (you may need to throw it back into the microwave for another 30 seconds- it really just depends on the strength of your microwave). Pour melted chocolate onto prepared sheet.
  3. Using a flat spatula, spread chocolate out on wax paper until it's about 1/4" thick.
  4. Sprinkle Reese's peanut butter cups, Reese's pieces, and peanuts evenly over the melted chocolate.
  5. Place peanut butter in a small bowl and microwave for 30 seconds. Remove and stir until runny. Using a spoon, drizzle melted peanut butter over the bark.
  6. Place bark in the fridge for 30-45 minutes so that it can set up.
  7. When it has hardened, remove from fridge and use a sharp knife to chop into large pieces (or you can use your hands to break it into small pieces).
