I’ve made this recipe two ways, in the Instant Pot, and in the Slow cooker.
The cooking methods deliver the same, amazingly flavorful beef. Both were tender and delicious. Just the cooking times were very different.
Whichever way you decide to make these, you won’t be disappointed!
Many times I forget to throw my food in the slow cooker in the morning. That is one of the main reasons I use my Instant Pot so much more!
With two ways to cook this recipe, I feel like we can enjoy it year round. I love it because either method keeps my house cool in the summer. But, it’s nice warm comfort food in the fall and winter.
This recipe requires 2 main ingredients, and the meat cooks right in the au jus which is amazing for dipping!
Can You Double the Recipe?
The answer is yes, yes you can. If you are cooking it in the Instant Pot you can double it and the time will stay the same.
You will want to double your liquid if you double the meat, just so there is enough liquid in there to have for dipping.
Cook French Dip Sandwiches with frozen meat
In the Instant Pot you will want to cook a 3 pound roast for two hours. If you are cooking it in the slow cooker, I would highly suggest cooking it for over 10 hours.
