Cheesy Pizza Roll

This Cheesy Pizza Roll is so simple to throw together, and the perfect dish for a busy night. It only requires a few simple ingredients, and tastes amazing.

My Husband’s favorite meal is with Rhodes rolls, mozzarella cheese, ham and pineapple. Making each individual one took some time to make.
I didn’t have a ton of time so I decided to try using a Rhodes Roll Loaf.
I was blown away by how perfect it turned out. My kids loved this recipe, and everyone gobbled it right up.
If you are looking for a quick and simple dinner recipe, this is one I highly recommend trying. It was so easy to make, and full of amazing flavor.
If you enjoy pizza night, as much as our family does, then this is a recipe you will most definitely want to try.
  • The pizza will already come pretty rolled out, but we like to roll it out a little more thin, so it thoroughly cooks through.
  • The thinner, the more cooked through the dough will be.
  • Spread out your toppings. We like ham and pineapple pizzas, but you could easily do pepperoni, cheese, meat lovers, etc. Any pizza flavor would work great with this recipe, and taste amazing.
  • We also went easy on the sauce. We prefer to dip them, but you could spread a little bit out if you desire.
  • Once it is all spread out, you can begin rolling. I roll my vertically, to make a longer roll, but you could roll it horizontally.
  • I prefer the vertical roll because it cooks it through nicely. If you roll it horizontally, it is going to be a short, and thick roll, and may not cook super evenly.
  • Top with your cheese, and dip in your favorite sauce (I prefer marinara, but my husband loves mixing ranch and marinara. I think both are delicious).

  • 2 (16 ounce) loaves frozen bread dough
  • 1 (16 ounce) package of deli sliced ham
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 (20 ounce) can pineapple tidbits (drained)
  • 1 (8 ounce) bottle pizza sauce

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Let the dough thaw out for about an hour.
  3. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin so that it is thin.
  4. Layer the sliced ham over all of the dough, letting it overlap.
  5. Cover the ham with the shredded mozzarella cheese.
  6. Then spread the pineapple over the cheese.
  7. Carefully roll up your pizza roll and place on a baking sheet. (I had to cut mine in half because it was so long)
  8. Bake for 20 - 25 minutes. Keep an eye on it so it doesn't burn.
  9. Let cool for 5 minutes then cut into 4 inch pieces.
  10. Dip in your favorite sauce. We like ranch or pizza sauce.

You can also add any of your favorite pizza toppings.

I'm attempting to make this now. I have always let mine rise first and it explodes. Wow did I have a rough time getting it rolled out today! It kept just shrinking right back. Now I'm waiting for it as it bakes in the oven and it isn't getting at all puffy!? Hmmm!!

Yours looked a little puffy so I was hoping I didn't mess up! But it was DELISH! I made two. One for my boys with just ham and cheese AND alfredo sauce. I added Green Pepper and Mushroom to mine!! YUMMMMY! We all loved it! :) I always used to make with Mozz and Pepperoni but not a big fan of Pepperoni! Don't know why I never thought of Ham! SO THANKS!
