Caesar Salad Burgers

If you noticed from my earlier post, a lot of my recipe inspiration comes from what I eat.

I heard from a lot of friends that I would LOVE the food in LA, and I thought they were being a little extreme – but they were so right.

The food here is AMAZING. And we have yet to eat at the same place twice. I would be lying if I said Hamburgers weren’t my favorite food, and I’ve eaten a lot of them since we moved to California.

I recreated these ceasar salad burgers after seeing them on a menu. They were a delicious spin on regular burgers. I used ground turkey, but you could easily substitute beef.

They were so simple to throw together and are a tasty grilling twist. They also just taste like a delicious summer evening to me. Does anyone else love grilling season just because it’s warm. Luckily in California it’s mostly warm all year round that we grill all year round.

But when we lived in Utah, grilling season was just a little sweeter, because it only lasted a few months out of the whole year.

what toppings would be good on these burgers?

I am a total topping person. If it doesn’t have toppings, I put my own toppings on it. These burgers are a little different, so toppings can be harder to pair with the flavor.

Here are a few topping recommendations that would taste delicious on this burger:

• red onion
• provolone, swiss or pepper jack cheese
• tomato slices
• spinach
• pesto
• artichokes
• banana peppers

My husband will put jalaepenos on his, because he likes little extra heat.

The only toppings I wouldn’t prefer on these burgers is pickles, ketchup or relish. The flavors don’t blend as well to me, with the Caesar salad dressing.

You could try it yourself, but we recommend eating the burgers with more neutral toppings that don’t have as much flavor, or topping you would put in your caesar salads.
