Apple Butter BBQ Spareribs

We couldn’t believe how easy this recipe was and especially how delicious!!  Your family will love these amazing ribs.  The apples add the perfect sweetness to the BBQ flavor!  This will definitely be added to your meal rotation!

  • 3 pounds pork spareribs
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 9.5 ounces apple butter (applesauce works too)
  • 18 ounces barbecue sauce
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 apples peeled and sliced (we used gala)


  1. Lightly spray your slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Salt and pepper your ribs to taste and slice them into serving sizes, then set them in the slow cooker.
  3. Mix together apple butter and barbeque sauce and pour over ribs.
  4. Top with onion slices and apple slices.
  5. Cover and cook on low for about 7 hours.
  6. Serve with baby red potatoes and cooked carrots. So delicious!
