Do you remember having cheese bread sticks in elementary school? It was my favorite thing and I always made sure I had school lunch on those days. I decided to give my own version a try and my kids couldn’t get enough of them! If you have a large family I recommend doubling this recipe because they will be gone within minutes!
4 ounces of string cheese, cut in half lengthwise (4 - 1 ounce cheese sticks)
1 Tablespoon butter, melted
Pasta and Salad Elegance (or you can use garlic salt)
1 cup pizza sauce for dipping (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cut dough into 8 small rectangles. Place a 1/2 stick of cheese in the center of each piece of dough, and fold the dough around the cheese. Stretch the dough as needed to entirely cover the cheese. Make sure all edges are sealed.
Place stuffed breadsticks on a pam sprayed baking sheet. Bake in the oven for 12-15 minutes, until light brown.
Remove from oven, and brush lightly with melted butter and sprinkle with Pasta and Salad Elegance (or garlic salt) Serve with heated pizza sauce for dipping.
