Philly Cheesesteak Stromboli

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs. ribeye steak
  • 1 can pizza dough
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 yellow onion, chopped
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 Tablespoon Montreal steak seasoning

Instructions

  1. On a skillet over medium heat, melt butter.
  2. Saute onions and peppers until cooked through.
  3. While onions are cooking, slice steak into small thin strips.
  4. Set aside onions and pepper in separate bowl once cooked.
  5. Using the same pan, add steak and Montreal seasoning. Cook meat over medium heat until cooked through.
  6. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  7. On lightly greased baking sheet, roll out pizza dough to cover bottom of pan.
  8. Leaving a 1 inch border, add steak, peppers and onion, provolone cheese to pizza dough.
  9. Brush 1 inch edge with egg wash, and fold in corners. Roll pizza dough and seal edges by pinching together dough.
  10. Brush top with egg wash.
  11. Cut small slits in pizza roll ever 1 inch.
  12. Bake for 18-20 minutes until crust becomes golden brown.
  13. Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes. Cut into slices and serve.
