Homemade Apple Cider

 

Nothing beats a warm cup of apple cider when it’s cold outside. We love this Slow Cooker Apple Cider for a couple of reasons, including the fact that it makes your whole house smell like delicious cider, and because it tastes AMAZING! Homemade Apple Cider

A delicious warm apple cider that you can make fresh in your slow cooker!

Ingredients

  • 4 Gala Apples
  • 5 Granny Smith Apples
  • 1 Orange
  • 3 Cinnamon Sticks

Instructions

  1. Core and chop all apples and place in slow cooker.
  2. Slice and peel orange and place on top of apples.
  3. Add 3 cups of water to your slow cooker.
  4. Cook fruit on high for 3 hours.
  5. Remove slow cooker lid and mash fruit with potato masher until few chunks remain.
  6. Add 3 cinnamon sticks to your slow cooker, return lid, and let it simmer for one more hour.
  7. Using a metal strainer or mesh cloth strainer, strain fruit until only cider remains.
  8. Place cider back in slow cooker and turn setting to "keep warm" until ready to serve.
  9. Serve with your favorite cider spices, nutmeg, cinnamon, or an extra orange slice. Enjoy!
