Homemade French Toast Sticks Recipe

My kids love frozen waffles and french toast sticks for breakfast.  I don’t know what it is, but something is just not quite right with them!  Haha!  I was craving some french toast and thought I would try something new.  My kids love just about anything they can eat with their hands and dip, so these french toast sticks were right up their alley!

  • 8 slices white Texas Toast bread
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 Tablespoons milk
  • 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 3 Tablespoons butter
  • Powdered sugar
  • Maple syrup

  1. Cut each slice of bread into 4 equal strips; set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, whipping cream, milk, vanilla, sugar and cinnamon.
  3. In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter.
  4. After butter is melted, dip each piece of bread in egg mixture, let excess drip off and place in saucepan.
  5. Don't place too many pieces of bread in the pan so it is overcrowded.
  6. Once one side is golden brown, flip over and cook the other side until golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  7. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup.

  1. Hey Ladies, I'm just letting you know that I found your photo along with this recipe on a site that likes to copy/paste recipes, crop your watermark out of the photo, and then has a tricky ad right where it says "printable recipe"...anyway, they did the same thing to me a couple of weeks ago and I just wanted to let you know so that if you have a problem with it, you can email them demanding that they remove it and it should be down pretty quickly. I'm in the process of trying to report them to google for copyright infringement, so hopefully their entire site will get shut down soon. Let me know if you need more information.
