Thick and Chewy M&M Blondies

I shared this recipe on our local lifestyle show (Studio 5) a couple of weeks ago and have received many email requests to share the recipe. They really are so incredibly easy to make with just a couple of ingredients and they taste absolutely amazing!
On the set of Studio 5, the camera guys and the producers kept nibbling on these . . . they are so delicious!

Thick and Chewy M&M Blondies
Ingredients:
3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup M & M candies (or chocolate chips or butterscotch chips)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 13×9″ pan with non-stick cooking spray.
Add the brown sugar to the melted butter and stir until combined. Add the vanilla and the eggs to the brown sugar mixture.
In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda and salt. Add the flour mixture to the brown sugar mixture and stir until all combined. Fold in the M&M candies (or chocolate chips). Scrape the batter into the baking pan and smooth the top using a spatula (I actually just used my hands to push the dough all the way to the edges and it was much easier). Bake for about 24-27 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the blondies comes out clean.
Let the blondies cool completely and then cut into large squares.
Serves 24.

  1. I have such a weakness for M&M's...they are just so yummy! This looks like it would work perfect for my addiction. Plus I could use the seasonal M&M's and call it Easter (or whatever holiday) blondies! Thanks for the recipe and for sharing at my Real Family Fun link party.

  2. These look delicious! We have plenty of M&Ms around right now because we are potty training our youngest with them... this sounds like a treat for the rest of us! :) Thanks for sharing this last week on Saturday Show & Tell on Cheerios and Lattes! You are Featured Favorite this week; we can't see what you six have been up to this week!

  3. I hate to be a Debbie Downer...but this recipe did not work at all for me. Very disappointing! And of course I made them late evening for my 5th graders class function the following day and was in a bind when they flopped. An equal sugar and flour ratio seems to be the biggest problem. I baked mine for almost an hour and they are still way too gooey and underdone in the middle. I ffollowed the recipe exactly. Perhaps a few more test runs are in order. It is very disappointing to waste time, energy and ingredients on a recipe that I should have confidence in.
