Slow Cooker Italian Chicken Recipe

This is a delicious, easy meal for when you don’t have a lot of time to spend in the kitchen.  Your family will never know you only spent a few minutes preparing dinner!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 ounces block-style fat-free cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup fat-free buttermilk
  • 2 cups shredded zucchini
  • 2/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. To prepare cake, coat a 12-cup Bundt pan with cooking spray.
  3. Place sugars, cream cheese, and vegetable oil in a large bowl, and beat with a mixer at medium speed until well blended. Add eggs and beat in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  4. Combine 2 1/2 cups flour, 1/2 cup of cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon in a medium bowl, stirring well with a whisk.
  5. Add flour mixture and buttermilk. Stir in zucchini, and 2/3 cup chocolate chips. Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until a wooden pick inserted in cake comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes on a wire rack; remove from pan. Cool completely on wire rack.
  6. Then add your favorite frosting or glaze on top.

  1. Here's a recipe I found somewhere for Italian Chicken. I had pork one day but not chicken so I used that instead and it still came out good. 2 lbs. of pork or 6 chicken breast halves cut into bite size pieces. 1 cup of Italian salad dressing and 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese. Stir all in the crock and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours. Great with mashed potatoes.
  2. I'm kind of cracking up here at some of the people's comments about not wanting to be a jerk! I have made this recipe for 20 years for my family which was merely told to me by my friend. I wrote it down myself in my own words . . . Exactly the same as the above recipe! So, should they be giving me credit? I think not. Good job, Six Sister's Stuff. Its so nice to let someone else do the thinking. Lots of times people end up having the exact same recipes and part of cooking is being free to change things to our own liking. I quoted from your recipe due to I thought it was a funny quote and I thought it would bring a laugh to your day, I do have days like that.
  4. I added a bag of broccoli to this recipe and it was great! Also, I've put it on top of egg noodles, and then put the leftovers on top of a salad for a lighter option, the creamy italian makes for great salad dressing. Awesome lunch with the leftovers!
    • We have never had a problem with this recipe. Your slow cooker may be hotter on the low setting. You didn't say how long you cooked it for. We usually cook for about 4 hours on low. Some slow cookers take a little longer. When you figure out how your slow cooker works you can adjust accordingly.
