Warm rice topped with steamed vegetables, chicken and tasty teriyaki sauce! Our family loves this recipe and I love being able to sneak a few extra veggies into my kids mouths!
Slow Cooker Chicken Teriyaki Bowl
2 lbs boneless skinless chicken
1 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
1/3 cup brown sugar
3 minced garlic cloves
2 cups cooked rice
1 cup carrots, steamed
1 cup broccoli, steamed
Place chicken in the slow cooker. In a bowl, mix together the chicken broth, teriyaki sauce, brown sugar, and garlic cloves. Pour sauce over the chicken and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high 4 to 5 hours.
Before serving, steam your carrots and broccoli until tender. Add rice, steamed veggies and chicken to each bowl. Top with chicken and drizzle on excess teriyaki sauce from your slow cooker.
To make it a little healthier, use fat free chicken broth, low sodium teriyaki sauce, and brown rice.
