This Homemade Red Velvet Hot Chocolate is the perfect Christmas day treat! It only takes a few minutes to whip up, and the creamy, chocolaty taste is unbeatable!

Ingredients:
(makes 2 servings)

2 cups milk
1/2 cups chocolate chips (we used milk, but semi sweet is fine!)
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons red velvet cake mix
Whipped cream for topping

Directions:
In a saucepan combine milk, chocolate chips, and sugar on medium heat. Stir until sugar is dissolved and chocolate is melted. Keep saucepan on heat, and add cake mix. Stir until combined and heated through, should take about 2 minutes or so. Top with whipped cream, chocolate chips, or Oreos, and enjoy!! This is easily doubled for larger crowds.

Why can’t you use red food coloring, instead of just 2 spoons from a box of mix that you would have to open?
