Orange Creamsicle Bars Recipe

When I was younger, I always loved when the ice cream truck stopped in our neighborhood on a hot summer day!  There was nothing better than basking in the hot sun while enjoying an ice cold Orange Creamsicle.  Mmm Mm Mm!  The creamy vanilla ice cream and tangy orange popsicle always seemed to hit the spot!

Now that I’m an adult, it might be just a little strange if I chased down the ice cream man for a summer treat, so instead I gave these Orange Creamsicle Bars from The Domestic Rebel a whirl.  Just like everything else Hayley whips up, they were absolutely amazing!  The white chocolate chips added the perfect creaminess to the orange flavor in these chewy bars.

Orange Creamsicle Bars Recipe:

1 (15 ounce) white cake mix
2 eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon orange extract
1 cup white chocolate chips
Orange food coloring

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease a 13×9 inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.  In a large bowl, combine cake mix, oil and eggs until smooth.  Remove half of the dough to another mixing bowl.  In one of the bowls, add orange extract and food coloring , and mix together until you reach your desired shade of orange.  Drop alternating spoonfuls of vanilla and orange dough into the prepared pan.  Press dough evenly into the pan.  Sprinkle white chocolate chips on top and press them into the dough.  Bake for 15 minutes, or until cooked through.  Cool completely and cut into bars.

These look great! I don’t have orange extract, but I do have doTERRA wild orange essential oil, so I’m going to try that. I’ve used it in other recipes with great success, so I’m sure these will taste yummy!
