Hookease Ski Equipment Giveaway {CLOSED}

Even though I have lived in Utah my entire life, I didn’t go skiing for the first time until I was 15 years old. And it was a horrifying experience: I couldn’t figure out how to balance for the life of me, I was on my bum more than I was standing, and I forgot to get off the lift when it reached the top of the mountain and they had to stop the entire lift while a worker helped me off.
I vowed then and there that I would never ski again.
Fast forward to now: I married a ski junkie who grew up in the mountains with skis for shoes. As soon as we started to have kids,
he knew that they would start skiing about the same time that they could walk.
I was able to make him wait until our oldest, Brynlee, turned 3 years old before he took her skiing.
He was so excited to get her up on the slopes and teach her the sport he loved so much.
He came home after a long day exhausted, cranky, and so sore from bending over all day trying to teach her how to ski. She cried the whole time because she was frustrated that it was so hard.
We decided that it would be best to wait another year before we tried again.
During that year, my husband googled and researched the best ways to teach your child to ski and happened to come across a product called
He read the information and reviews, watched a couple videos on it, and ordered it that night.
He took Brynlee skiing the following winter and came home to announce,
 “This product is amazing!”
Brynlee LOVED skiing, there were no tears and best of all- my husband didn’t have a sore back!
A couple of weeks ago, Hookease contacted us and asked if we would like to review their product and share it with our readers and we immediately responded and said that we LOVED their products and would love to share it because we KNOW it works.
There really is no other way to teach your kids or grandkids how to ski!

This year, Mason got to go skiing with dad and we hooked him up with the Hookease immediately.
He was so proud to be skiing with dad. It was smooth right from the beginning- my husband had total control over his skis, but Mason got to experience what it felt like to balance and turn and how to properly position his body.Dad Note: The thing that I love about Hookease is not only being able to control the speed of the skier, but the position of the skis. It’s one thing to tell them “Make a pizza” or “Make a V,” but when you can actually steer the ski into that position makes a HUGE difference. The other thing I loved was being able to control edges. By twisting your ski poles you can actually help your skier to find an inside or outside edge during a turn. I used them 1/2 the day with my five-year-old and she was actually carving out turns by the end of the day!! It offered control that I’ve never found in any other ski training product.

It really is so easy to set up: it slides on to the end of any pair of skis and adjusts to fit. The pole adapters can fit on the end of any ski pole and then “hook” securely to the hole in the hookease clips that are on the skis.
And just like that, you are good to go!!
Now that Brynlee is five and has some experience under her belt, my husband uses the Wedgease with the Harness. It gives her a little more control, but she is not scared at all because dad still has a hold on her.

The harness fits comfortably like a backpack and everything can tuck into the pack when it’s not being used or when you are on the lift.
Dad Note: I’ve used lots of ski harness products in my life, but this was the best I’ve ever found. First of all it’s got multiple buckles around the chest as well as the arms that makes putting it on over big coats a cinch! On the back is a small pouch that you can tuck the straps into when not in use (HUGE help for chair lines and riding up the lift). It offers a strong handle on the back by the pouch that was perfect for pulling my little girl back up onto her feet when she did fall. Finally- I loved the straps (reins)! The bottom half of them is made from bungee material that offers a little more give while still allowing me control (ie- there was a little more play… I didn’t pull her over backwards when she got going too fast because my resistance was dampened by the bungee). Between these two products my 5 year-old was skiing nearly independently on her 3rd time on the mountain… and my back felt GREAT!!

I seriously wish that I had this when I was younger. As I watch my kids learn to ski with Hookease, it gives them the confidence they need to be able to do it. They have so much fun learning how to ski, even at such a young age. Ski instructors recommend this product and even though it’s a fairly new idea and product, it’s catching on worldwide and is endorsed by the Olympic skiier, Picabo Street.

I liked Launchpad on facebook. I’ve seen these products on the slopes, but never knew what they were. 1 out of 4 kids left to teach to ski. We are too old and tired to do it the old fashioned way again!!! Hooray!

I’ve lived in Pennsylvania all my life and have yet to actually going to our local ski resort and use it! I’m kind of ashamed of that fact. I always wanted to try skiing, can you use hookease with a 6’0″ 250 lbs man?? haha :) That’s really awesome though, I can’t wait to have kids and and teach them my passions as well! I guess I better focus on my wedding in July first before kids :)

I pinned the hookease product. My husband is also a skiier and taught my now 12 year old how to ski when he was probably about 5. I know there were a lot of tears and frustration for many years. I now have an almost 4 year old who will be heading to the slopes soon, and I think this would be a great product to help him learn. As well as cause less frustration for everyone.

How cool are these? I’ve never attempted to hit the slopes. I’m a bit clumsy by nature and the idea of heading down a slope with two giant boards under my feet seems to be cruisin’ for a bruisin’. But I’m determined to try it one day. Maybe not today (especially, because I live in sunny California and have my entire life) but one day :).

I have some of these and used them last year for my 2-year old and 5-year olds. And yes, they do work and saved my back!! Love their products. So worth the money. My 5year old was skiing on his own by our 3rd trip last year. He went skiing a couple of weeks ago and was on his own- so much fun!
