I went to my neighbors house the other day and I asked her what she was cooking because it smelled AMAZING! She told me she has a little creation that smells up her whole house! It is so easy and only takes 3 ingredients! Here is what she does.
Homemade Holiday Fragrance
1 Large Pan full of water
3 apples cut into fourths
3 Tablespoons of Cinnamon
Put your pan full of water on your stove top and add your apples and cinnamon. Stir just a bit then let it simmer on low heat all day long. The smell of fresh apples will linger through your house all day!
(when I cut the apples I used the whole apple – skins, seeds and stem)
Love the taste of apple too? These are my favorite apple recipes!

I love your site! Thanks for sharing this great idea! I have heard about doing this with oranges and also with vanilla extract. Will have to try this one as well!
Oranges and vanilla extract would be wonderful!
It’s also good when you add a few whole cloves to the mixture!
Mmmm… That probably smells amazing (and fools people into thinking you’re cooking!). I also read a trick once from Dinner: A Love Story (love that cookbook), that another trick is cook an onion (in some water) in your oven. The whole house smells like you’re cooking something incredible supposedly.
My MIL told me that one of the best ways to sell a house is to put a roast in the oven with the trimmings. I have also heard that when you have the smell of baked goods it makes other’s feel all warm and fuzzy too. I will have to try this we need some warm and fuzzy feelings in our home
