I love the combination of bacon and ranch and the pasta and sauce perfectly compliments the duo. I promise that your family will love this simple dish.
Crock Pot Bacon Ranch Chicken
Ingredients:
2 strips of bacon, cooked and crumbled (can use turkey bacon)
1 tsp minced garlic
1 (1 oz) packet dry ranch dressing mix
1 (10.75 oz) can 98% fat-free condensed cream of chicken soup
1 cup sour cream (fat-free works great)
1 lb. chicken breasts (can be frozen or defrosted)
8 oz. of your favorite pasta, cooked
Directions:
Spray slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray and place chicken in the crock pot.
Mix the bacon, garlic, ranch dressing mix, soup, and sour cream together and pour over the top of the chicken. Cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6 hours. Shred chicken with two forks. Cook pasta as directed on package and serve chicken over pasta.

Do you have a problem with the sour cream breaking? I have always been afraid to use milk products for slowcooking.
ReplyDeleteThis is actually the first time I have really used sour cream in my slow cooker- I have not used it in the past because I was afraid of it curdling. But I had absolutely no problems! It was smooth and creamy.
Delete@Carla - be sure to cook on LOW. I've learned that cooking with dairy on high will curdle. Meaning, don't try to short-cut the recipe and cook on high for less time....like I did!
DeleteYum!
ReplyDeletehow many servings does this make? does anybody know? and how much is a serving
ReplyDeleteThis made about 5 servings for us- 2 kid servings and 3 adult servings. Hope that helps!
DeleteThat looks so yummy!

ReplyDeleteHi Six Sisters,
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if you blanch your potatoes before you freeze them. I have had my potatoes turn black and not taste very good.
I made this the othe week. SO GOOD! I added frozen spinach to the crock pot with two hours left. YUMMY! It almost reminded me of an alfredo and it tasted wonderful when we had it the following day for left overs!
