I was hanging out with my cute sister-in-law Aleisha earlier this week and we were chatting over delicious seven layer dip that she had brought. I made the comment that I had never made it before because it seemed like too much work to make each individual layer and then stack them all up (I am lazy like that). She told me that this dip couldn’t be easier- just buy everything pre-made! So, I came home the very next day and started looking on Pinterest for yummy seven layer dips and came across the cute idea to make them in plastic tumbler cups so that everyone can have their individual servings! These would be perfect for a BBQ or Potluck dinner . . . who could resist a cute little cup full of delicious dip?!

Individual Seven Layer Dip
Recipe idea from The Girl Who Ate Everything

Ingredients:
1 (16 oz) can refried beans (or make these delicious homemade refried beans)

1 package taco seasoning
2 cups guacamole (or make this easy homemade guacamole)
1 (8 oz) container sour cream (I used fat free)
2 cups salsa or pico de gallo (or make this homemade salsa)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
2 tomatoes, diced (I used Roma tomatoes)
1/2 bunch of green onions, sliced
1 (2.25 oz) can of sliced olives, drained
9 ounce plastic tumblers
tortilla chips

Directions:

In a small bowl mix taco seasoning with refried beans. For a different and yummy taste, mix your taco seasoning with your sour cream layer.
Layer the dip in each cup. I found that using a small cereal spoon worked best for me as a spread each layer in the cup. Here is the order I did: beans/taco seasoning mix, sour cream, guacamole, salsa, shredded cheese, tomatoes, olives, and green onions.

Store in the refrigerator until serving and serve with chips.
I was able to make about 12 cups of dip. They were a huge hit!

If you wanted to, you could use the same amount of ingredients and spread it out in a 9×11″ pan to make one large seven layer dip. :) It will still taste amazing!

This is such a great idea! I love adding beans to my dip but my boyfriend hates it, so problem solved! Plus, you could have some that are spicy with jalapenos and some regular…endless possibilities :)

This is so genius. I love doing seven layer bean dip and my family goes crazy about it. Having it in individual cups would be a lot easier to do. This is so cool! Thank you!

Want to make 50 for a lunch time party. If I use store bought guacamole can I make them the night before and just put the layers together up to the cheese layer???
Then I can add the tomatoes & olives & scallions the morning of the party.

We use store bought guacamole sometimes and after a while it also darkens. It doesn’t darken as fast as homemade guac. I can see where you would need to make them the night before if you are making 50!! You are impressive. I’m thinking that having the guacamole between layers will help slow down the darkening too. I hope this helps. We haven’t made it the night before, just like 4 hours before eating. Let us know how it all turns out. I think you will be ok.
