zest slowcooker BBQ

Two of my favorite things are slow cookers and barbecue sauce. When I found this recipe I knew I had to try it! It smelled so good the whole day cooking and tasted even better! This is super easy to make and now is my new favorite!

Recipe adapted from Allrecipes
Ingredients
6 frozen skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
1 (12 ounce) bottle barbecue sauce (I used Famous Dave's Zesty BBQ sauce)
1/2 cup Italian salad dressing
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
Directions
Place chicken in a slow cooker. In a bowl, mix the barbecue sauce, Italian salad dressing, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over the chicken.
Cover, and cook 3 to 4 hours on High or 6 to 8 hours on Low.
Shred Chicken and place on buns or rolls.

I’ve made this recipe many times and it’s great. Just throw the chicken breasts in the crock frozen and top with the sauce. Perfect every time! Can’t get much simpler!

I’m Guessing 6 if you have good size portions… if you use small buns you definitely will get more. :) And yes, I ALWAYS throw in my chicken frozen. I can’t tell a difference whether thawed or frozen.

Hi! Just wondering if you have done this with fresh chicken and how long you let it cook to retain juiciness. :) Thanks!!

We have only used the frozen chicken breasts. I’m sure fresh chicken could be used, just wouldn’t take as long to cook.

Does the nutritional info on the Recipe Magic site include the rolls? I’m always looking at carb info for my diabetic daughter and I don’t see how this recipe could possibly have 27g of carbs per serving for just the meat. Thank you!

I am confused how you got only 4 WW points for this… I put it in WW recipe builder using exactly the ingredients you gave and for 8 servings it is 8 points per serving. That’s double the points and would make a big difference for someone trying to strictly stay within their points.
