I am so excited to introduce you to my friend, Brittney! I have known Brittney for years . . . she is seriously such a sweetheart and I am lucky to have her as a friend. Brittney and I are in the same boat . . . we are both stay-at-home moms who have made the sacrifice to be at home with our children at the expense of not having two incomes from working parents. I know that a lot of you are the same way. And it can be hard! However, Brittney recently introduced me to a company called Paparazzi. It is the perfect job for a stay-at-home mom or even a working mom who is looking to make a little bit of extra money (and with Christmas right around the corner, heaven knows we could all use some!). I know that there are a lot of companies out there who market their products to stay-at-home moms and I know for me, it's a lot of pressure to go to my friend's "parties" where they sell expensive items that I don't have the money for. However, I love that all of Paparazzi's items are $5. Only $5! Even on our one-person income, we can afford that! And with that, here is Brittney:
I am so pleased to have the opportunity to do a giveaway on Six Sisters Blog. Six Sisters Stuff is my favorite place to check when I need inspiration for dinner. I plan on being a frequent visitor for decorating ideas as soon as we close on our first real house next week.
Several weeks ago, I found myself in the middle of a dream come true. I was in a room full of jewelry and every piece was $5. It looked like the kind of accessories that cost $12.00 - $20.00 at the mall or Target. It was called Paparazzi and it was wonderful. I took a deep breath, gave myself a $30 limit and immediately went to work sifting through strikingly pretty necklaces, earrings, bracelets, hair clips and headbands. It very quickly became apparent that if I was going to stick to my spending limit, I was going to have to put several items back. So I did put a few back, and then conceded that I would spend $10 more than I had planned. I went home completely thrilled with my jewelry purchase.
Look how cute these earrings are! And yep- they are only $5!!!
Fast forward a couple of weeks to a summer fundraiser where I saw a sign advertising the same brand of $5 jewelry I had discovered earlier, and I made a beeline for the booth. As I got closer, I realized I knew the girl running it. As we caught up with each other, I found out one of the most exciting things going on in her life right now was her selling Paparazzi jewelry. She was making enough money to supplement her husband’s income and stay home with her baby boy. AND she had boxes of that beautiful $5 jewelry delivered to her doorstep on a regular basis.
I had never considered doing anything remotely similar to selling jewelry up to that point. I am a former 5th grade teacher who has tried to pull in a couple hundred dollars substitute teaching and tutoring a few days a month. But I did consider it all weekend… and the kicker was that my husband thought it was a fantastic idea. We couldn’t find anything wrong with it.
And so here I am. Let me tell you about my past week. Saturday morning I sat out under a gazebo tent in the front yard with my Paparazzi jewelry on display and made 62 sales with my little girl sitting next to me. Monday morning a woman who had visited my sale on Saturday and received multiple compliments on her jewelry called to see if she could come back and look at my inventory and made six more purchases. This morning before my daughter woke up, I went to a breakfast for budding business owners and sold 3 pieces of jewelry (pieces I had brought as examples for when I was introduced to the group) before 8:30 AM. I have a home sale tomorrow night and the night after that.
Paparazzi thrives on open-house-style home sales. That’s where I was first introduced to the jewelry. What I love about the sales is how low pressure they are. People may walk in with a little bit of skepticism, but when they see the trendiness of the jewelry and how affordable it is, they are pleasantly surprised. Paparazzi sellers also can work as vendors at fairs, carnivals, and fundraisers. My first event was a rodeo in a small Idaho town.

What do I love most about selling Paparazzi jewelry? While the excitement I see from women who see the jewelry for the first time and how pleasantly surprised they are by the price is very rewarding, the best part for me is being able to stay home with my daughter AND make money in an enjoyable way all at the same time. I am in control of how busy I want to be with it.
Three Paparazzi items are up for grabs in this giveaway- a pair of earrings, a flower headband, and a necklace and earring set (these are some of the items that Paparazzi carries). That means 3 winners!!
