Avocado Hair Mask

I came across this blog called The Beauty Department and found so many good tips and ideas.  I tried this hair mask and love it!  I put it in while my little guy took a nap for a few hours and my hair was SO SOFT after I washed it out.  Plus, it is stuff you probably have at home!
Looks a little guacamole but don’t let that freak you out! :)
Just 2 ingredients!!!
You’ll need: a bowl, an electric mixer/beater, ripe avocado, extra virgin olive oil, a clip (or something to hold your hair up), shower cap + a blow dryer.

In a bowl, mix half of a ripe avocado (smashed) and 2 tsp. of olive oil (I doubled it because I have really thick hair).  Using your electric beater, whip the two ingredients together until they reach a creamy consistency.  Shampoo hair well, ring out excess water, then apply the mask all over.  If you have fine/flat hair, skip the roots and only do the middle to ends.  Clip up your hair and cover it with the shower cap.    Warm up the treatment with your blow dryer on a low heat setting for about one minute.  Heat will allow the treatment to soak in much further than it would without.  Leave the mask in for as long as you can (5-30 minutes will be fine) and rinse thoroughly.  Condition as usual with your regular conditioner.

**It might be easiest to bring the bowl with the mask in the shower for an easy, less messy application.**
