Ruffle Headband Tutorial

I have seen ruffles EVERYWHERE lately! I saw a darling ruffle headband at Target and thought I could totally make my own. Here it is!
Here’s how to make it:
Supplies: About an 1/8 yard of fabric, matching felt, hot glue gun, needle, matching thread, scissors & a headband!
Cut your fabric into 2″x2″ squares. I made about 40 for my headband, but if you want a looser ruffle you could do less.
Round the corners of all of your squares. Cut a few at a time to save time!
Cut two identical pieces of felt. Mine were about 4″ long x 1″ wide.
Take a square and fold it up, then hold onto the tip in the center.
Add another square underneath it and fold it up similarly so the two squares are stacked on top of each other.
Take your threaded needle and run it through the tip of the two squares and stitch it to the end of one strip of felt.
Continue to add ruffles until you get it as full and thick as you would like!
The back of the ruffle strip might look a little crazy but that is okay! Place hot glue on each piece of felt.
Attach felt strips to headband……
and WALLAH!
Super easy and super ruffly!
I really liked how it turned out, but next time I would do a few things differently! I would make my squares a little bit smaller so my ruffle wasn’t so tall (I get nervous about trying new things sometimes!) and I would make my felt strips a little shorter so the ruffle was more on one side rather than getting so close to the middle….if that make sense…. Anyway, happy head banding!

Love it!
Would love it if you’d link this up to my 20 Minute Tuesday party.
It’s for projects that take 20-30 minutes and cost less than $10.
Thanks for considering
