I saw yet another ruffle headband at Target. I tried to figure out how they made it and whipped up this little lady! It literally took 10 minutes and I used scraps of materials I had lying around!
Supplies: hot glue gun, scissors, headband, fabric (I just used a tiny scrap, you don't need much!), felt, needle & thread OR sewing machine.
Cut two strips of fabric. The first strip is 10" x 3" and the second is 10" by 2". You could use longer strips if you wanted your ruffle to be longer.
Stack the strips on top of each other.
After the two pieces are sewn together, pull on one of the strings at the end to ruffle the fabric.
After the fabric is ruffled, tie the threads off with knots and trim with scissors.
Cut two strips of felt that are a little shorter than your ruffle. Mine were about 1"x 4".
Put a small dot of hot glue on the back side of the ruffles and fold the end over to give a finished look.
Glue one strip of felt to the back of your ruffle.
Decide where you want your ruffle to attach to the headband.
Glue the other strip of felt on and attach your ruffle!
Ta-Da! So easy!
