Growing up, our mom made this stew all the time! It is so simple to put all the ingredients in your crock pot and let it cook all day. This is the perfect meal for a cold day!
Crock Pot Beef Stew Recipe:

1 (1 pound) package baby carrots
3 potatoes, peeled and cut
2 pounds of pre-cut stew meat
1 cup beef stock

2 cloves garlic, minced
1 bay leaf
1 Tablespoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1 onion, diced
1 rib celery, cut up
1 can green peas
Directions:
Put all ingredients into crock pot in the order listed. Stir just enough to mix spices. Cover and cook on low 10-12 hours or high 5-6 hours. Remove bay leaf, and serve.

ReplyDeleteJust tried out this recipe today! It was very delicious, but a little dry. Kind of more like a pot roast vs a stew. When you make it, is it more of a thick soup or creamy? And if so, how do you achieve this?? :p The only differences I made were no worchestershire sauce, but I added in more beef broth [I used broth instead of stock as well]. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
ReplyDeletePut this up this morning! cant wait to get home and see how it came out!!
ReplyDeleteThis came out really good. I made my own broth so I put in more than the recipe called for, it was a bit watery but had a great flavor. Definitely going to make it again.
ReplyDeleteI added some tomato paste and a little flour/butter as a thickener. Yummy stew! :-)

ReplyDeletePS...typo alert....That is I am having this for dinner....
ReplyDeleteMade this a couple nights ago. It was wonderful. Used deer meat and it was so tender. Carrots and potatoes etc were perfect as well . We added mushrooms because my husband thinks they should be added to everything. I committed the Worcestershire sauce because I didn't have any on hand and refuse to purchase any ingredient if it's only a tsp.I added about three tablespoons of soy sauce instead . I cooked on the high setting. Not sure if the bay leaves were necessary. Will probably omit those next time as well to save even more money. Thanks for the great recipe. Another wonderful pinterest find !
